Frog on a Log? Yes this story starts with a frog sitting on a log and continues the rhyming. The kids loved this story and their Foodie Fun making a frog on a log. Of course the. We had to read the sequel Dog on a Frog! It was a great day to be a Kindergartner!

Reminder that the deadline to submit letters or items for Senior Decision Day Swag bags is coming up on MAY 10th! You can email letters to autumn.winsor@ovidelsie.org (please make sure you clearly indicate which seniors they are for) or you may drop off physical letters and items at the high school office. The high school counseling office is providing drawstring backpacks and some smaller items to celebrate every senior, but letters from friends and family always make it more personal so help us send off our seniors with their cups overflowing <3

Shining the spotlight on Student of the Week, junior James K! James is a member of the Cross Country, Track, and Robotics teams. While also active in FFA, he was just elected Ovid-Elsie’s FFA president for next school year. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, reading and gardening with his mom. Some of the accomplishments and awards he’s earned through his high school career include Honorable Mention last year and second team all-conference this year in cross country. He also set a school record by making it to the finals for robotics alongside teammates Matt B, Matt V, Gabriel G, Jeremiah S, and Reid R. After high school, James plans to obtain a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University before transferring to another university to earn a Master’s degree in Paleontology. Mrs. Laurencelle nominated James because ‘He is very mature and responsible. He is always listening and paying attention in class and answering questions that most others are hesitant to answer. He is a true leader. He also has a gentle spirit and always wants to help, never hinder.’ We couldn’t agree more. Congratulations James!
