Mrs. Miller‘s 6th grade science class got a chance to get creative this week by building 3-D models of plants and animal cells. This project helps students understand the structure and function of the organelles within a cell.

Members of the EE Knight Kindness Club stuffed and delivered goodie bags for all of the residents of Ovid Healthcare Center. On delivery day they also sang several Christmas carols to the residents and staff members. It was such a fun way to spread some holiday kindness and cheer! Congratulations to Ovid-Elsie High School’s Student of the Week, senior Trinity! FFA Advisor, Ms. Hoffman nominated Trinity, this quiet leader is usually the first to volunteer to help at an event or create promotional material. She often steps out of her comfort zone and her dedication to the program is appreciated. Trinity is the Ovid-Elsie FFA Chapter Parliamentarian and has received the Star Greenhand, Star Farmer, Outstanding Junior, and Challenge 24 awards. She is still deciding where to pursue an Ag Business degree after high school.
Last month Spanish 2 students had the opportunity to taste Cuban tortillas. These tortillas originated in Spain and are consumed by Spanish and Caribbean Latinos instead of Mexican tortillas. Spanish tortillas are made with 12 eggs, potatoes, green pepper, onion, garlic, and optional chorizo sausage. Pictured is Marshall, who brought us the eggs!
