We want to remind you about the new school speed zone that will be effective starting April 1, 2024, on Colony and Hollister Roads. The safety of our children is our top priority, and reducing speed in school zones helps ensure their well-being. https://5il.co/2gsds

Shining the spotlight on Student of the Week, sophomore McKenzie K! McKenzie, was nominated by two teachers, Mr. Migoski & Dr. Faziani! She was selected as this week’s student of the week because 'She is very energetic, positive, and brings a bright attitude to class everyday. She is always polite, asking questions, contributing to class discussions, and willing to do whatever to reach her potential.' and ‘Kenzie is always happy to be in class and extremely willing to engage in the material. She always offers to participate and is a natural leader among her peers. Her positive attitude is infectious and always makes the learning environment more comfortable, kind, and positive.’ She plays soccer and basketball for OEHS and travel soccer for Cap City. Last year she was a delegate representing Michigan at the World Food Prize Global Youth Institute in Iowa. After graduation, McKenzie plans to attend college for business and later become a Real Estate Agent.

PJ and Slipper Day for filling our Awesomeness Ten Frame and enjoying our classroom prize of popsicles for smashing our classroom reading goal of 110 books read by almost 50 books. I think if you’d ask these kindergarteners, they would say it is a great way to start off the week!

Last Friday, as part of our PBIS at Leonard, we had MAD SCIENTIST! Students worked in partners and placed 30 Skittles on a small paper plate. One partner added cold water to the middle of their plate and the other partner added warm/hot water to their plate. Students had many hypotheses. Check out our outcome! The kiddos had a GREAT time (and got to eat 5 leftover Skittles). Thanks for creating this fun lesson, Mrs. Snelling!
