Today in Miss Jones’ 5th grade class, we did a book “tasting” event where students were able to dip into books they may not always choose off of the shelf. Our “Starbooks” Cafe was a successful morning and introduction to our new AR program. Students were eager to dive into their books and get reading… with donuts of course!

First Grade went on a walking field trip to the Ovid Library. Mrs. Allen guided them through and shared some amazing books. We even got to make bookmarks for the special book they gave us. A big thank you to the Ovid Library for such a wonderful visit!

Second grade attended Project R.E.D. at the Shiawassee Fairgrounds last week. Students learned and had hands-on experiences during the rural education day.

Congratulations to our 2023 Hall of Fame Inductees: Adam Smith, Cesario (Ces) Garcia, Tim Doyen, Sonya Latz and the 2005 Competitive Cheer Team. The inductees will be honored during half time at the Varsity Football game on Friday, 10/6 and the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held Saturday, 10/7 in the Cafeteria/Auditorium with Social Hour from 6-7:00 pm & Induction Ceremony to follow at 7:00 pm. Admission is $10/person. We'll be highlighting an inductee each day this week. Today's highlight is Adam Smith.

Students worked together to navigate a blindfolded teammate through an organization competition. Students used their textbook and slideshow to locate answers about the strengths and weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation. Students compete against other groups to be the first to finish the T-Chart.
