Foodie Fun Friday with our special guests from Mrs. Westenberg’s class. We read the story “Flip and Flop” and many yummy penguins from the story. Who’d ever know that reading is so tasty!! What a wonderful day to be a kindergartner!

Last week Mrs. Jones' Kindergarten class wrapped up their "Hearts From Around the USA" project. They collected mail from 31 different states within the United States and even got mail from Saint Lucia and Finland. As an extension to this fun activity, the students got to learn the capitals and some fun facts! The students LOVED this project and have been doing an amazing job remembering all 50 of their states and capitals.

Last Friday Leonard had our monthly Positive Behavior Assembly! The Ovid-Elsie Band and Cheerleaders came to our building to help celebrate!

Ovid-Elsie High School, in partnership with Educatius, welcomes international high school students to the school and community every year. The students are from all over the world and study alongside their American peers while living with a paid host family in the community. We are currently looking for host families for the 2024 – 2025 school year. Contact Tracy Somers at the high school at tracy.somers@ovidelsie.org

Todays science lesson in Miss Jones’ class, we investigated the process of decomposition between two different experiments. With bacteria being a decomposer, we “collected” bacteria from various objects in the school on pieces of bread and placed in a baggy. We also have a control piece and a piece that was sprayed with water. Now we watch and observe what happens to the bread over the next week to make a general conclusion.

Good luck to our Frosh/JV Boys Basketball & Varsity Bowling Teams today. Go Marauders!

Congratulations to our Girls Varsity Basketball Team - 3X Conference Champs!

No livestock in the classroom, no worries! Students in the middle school agriscience class volunteered to have their peers label them so students could practice learning livestock anatomy!

7th Graders had fun this week reading and acting out a script from a Twilight Zone TV episode. They will then use the experience as a launching point for writing next week as a lawyer investigating what happened. There were some fantastic actors!
