
Ovid-Elsie Middle School is organizing a Halloween Dance on Friday, October 27th, which will take place from 3 pm to 5 pm after school. MS students can purchase tickets for the dance on the event day for $3. Concessions will be available at the dance, along with a costume contest, donut eating contest, & open gym. On this day, students are allowed to wear costumes all day to celebrate Halloween. However, please make sure that the costumes abide by the dress code. Students may not wear masks, fake blood, or accessories (weapon-related). Face paint should be kept to a minimum. OEHS National Honor Society is hosting a Blood Drive tomorrow. If you are interested in donating, please enter through the main high school entrance. The Ovid-Elsie Marching Band performed their "Billboard Memories" competition show at The MSBOA Marching Band Festival in Owosso on Monday, October 9th. Our marching band, which is composed of students in 8th grade through 12th grade, was rated by 3 adjudicators on a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 is highest. The O-E Marching Band received a 1st division, or outstanding, rating from all 3 adjudicators. Way to go band!

Congratulations to Ovid-Elsie High School’s Student of the Week, freshman Kenlee W! Kenlee was nominated by Mr. Dahlke for her cheerful attitude even when facing challenges. She takes her education seriously even when she has to miss class for other activities such as volleyball, softball, or student council. In her free time, Kenlee enjoys painting, drawing, and reading. Her post-secondary plans include attending college to earn a degree in Interior Design. Way to be respectful, responsible, and your best, Kenlee!


Middle school students, we have an exciting announcement from the student council! A pumpkin carving and painting contest will be held. To participate, bring your finished pumpkin creation to school on Monday, October 23rd. Please note that all carving and painting must be done at home. As a thank-you for participating, cider and donuts will be provided on Monday morning. The judging will take place on Tuesday, October 24th, and the top three winners will receive a delicious prize. Start carving and painting, and we can't wait to see your creations!


Consumers Energy came to EEK Elementary and presented ways to save energy. The students were active participants and were given an energy saving kit to take home.
