In Miss Jones’ class, we have been learning about holidays around the world, with today being Israel and the celebration of Hanukkah. They had the chance to read about the traditions and then make a menorah as a STEM challenge. We then played the dreidel game, which is a part of the Hanukkah tradition.

Congratulations to Ovid-Elsie High School’s Student of the Week, sophomore Isabella P! Nominated by Chemistry teacher, Mr. Topping who had this to say about her, ‘Izzy is extremely hard working. She asks good questions in class that I know some are not brave enough to ask. This benefits the entire class as I am sure others might have similar issues. She gets excellent grades in chemistry and is always polite and courteous.’ As a tri-athlete, Izzy plays volleyball, basketball, and softball. She was a member of last year’s district & regional champion basketball team and this year’s district champion volleyball team! She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends. Her post-secondary plans include attending college but is currently undecided as to what she’d like to pursue.
