The students are from all over the world and study alongside their American peers while living with a paid host family in the community. 7th Graders had fun this week reading and acting out a script from a Twilight Zone TV episode. They will then use the experience as a launching point for writing next week as a lawyer investigating what happened. There were some fantastic actors!

Todays science lesson in Miss Jones’ class, we investigated the process of decomposition between two different experiments. With bacteria being a decomposer, we “collected” bacteria from various objects in the school on pieces of bread and placed in a baggy. We also have a control piece and a piece that was sprayed with water. Now we watch and observe what happens to the bread over the next week to make a general conclusion.

Shining the spotlight on Student of the Week freshman Maxin A! Maxin was nominated by Mrs. Blank because ‘Maxin always tries to do his best in English. He is attentive and asks questions. He gets his work done on time. He asks questions pertinent to the discussion we're having in class. Additionally, Maxin spent time after school working on the 9th-grade float. He shows an interest in being a team player.’ In his free time, Maxin enjoys playing video games and hanging out with friends. He’s looking forward to going out for football next fall. After high school, he plans to attend college to study to become an electrician and would like to own his own business. Great job Maxin in being a Marauder, demonstrating what it means to be Respectful, Responsible, and always striving to be your best.
