OEHS students Olivia C, Steven O, and Daniel O were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) on Tuesday for their exceptional dedication and achievements in their career and technical (CTE) education programs. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Ovid-Elsie High School’s Student of the Week, junior Danica! Nominated by Ms. Hoffman because “This year Danica is serving as both a chapter and a regional FFA officer in addition to NHS and being a multiple sport athlete. She always strives to be her best and to help others. She is very dedicated to her academics and making sure she produces the best work. She was an integral part of the OE FFA parliamentary procedure team this year. At the MI FFA State Convention, she represented OE FFA as a State Delegate and was recognized with the Outstanding Junior Award.” Not only is Danica the OE Chapter Vice President and Region IV FFA Sentinel, she’s also involved with 4-H, a Michigan Jr Beef Ambassador, and busy starting/growing her beef business, DJ Cattle Co. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family. After graduation, Danica plans to attend Michigan State University to pursue a degree in an agriculture-related field, with a strong focus on agronomy or agribusiness. She’s especially excited to be involved in MSU’s beef program, where she hopes to gain hands-on experience working with cattle, expand my knowledge of beef production, and connect with industry professionals. Her long-term goal is to use what she learns at MSU to grow her beef operation and continue promoting the agriculture industry.

Good morning OEHS!
Earlier this week the Counseling Department visited our current 9-11th graders to discuss classes for the first semester of next year and what options would be available. During this meeting we provided them with preference sheets to rank their top elective choices and indicate which core classes they will be in for next year. We understand some students were not here on those days, so we will be doing another run through of this information when we return from break for all the students that missed it the first time. After that we will send copies of the presentations to all students and parents along with information regarding AP course applications, Early Graduation Applications, and Work-Based Learning options.
No students have picked classes, only provided us with their preferences, so there will be no course selection penalties for a student that missed the original presentations this week.
Scheduling presentations for current 8th graders moving into HS next year will take place after break.

Good luck to our athletes competing today. Go Marauders!
