OEMS Announcements

Announcements Monday 2/6/2023:

Good morning staff and students!  Welcome to Ovid-Elsie Middle School where we are inspiring life-long learners to achieve their full potential and excel in a changing world.  Today is Monday 6th February, 2021.  Please stand for the pledge…..

We have a special birthday today….Mrs Bushard who is our savior when it comes to all things tech and is also one of our amazing Student Council supervisor’s is having her birthday today.  Please take the opportunity if you have to be in the IC to tell her happy birthday and thank her for all that she does for our school.  On top of that celebrity birthday Mr Stedman, our compassionate and dedicated counselor and Mrs Huhn, math superwiz, had birthdays over the weekend.  Please wish them a happy birthday also.

Student Council will be selling tickets for the after school dance before school, on Wed, Thurs and Friday of this week.  Tickets are $3.

Once again let’s make it clear that students may not stay after school unless they are participating in an adult supervised school event immediately after school.  This includes the high school.  Mr Tokar has no desire to have you in his building after school if you are not in a club.  If you are going to the MAT program you must participate in the entirety of the program and be picked up immediately afterwards.

And now it’s time for Manic Mystery Monday so pop your thinking caps on and teachers dial 1420 when you have heard the entire question and your class has an answer:

Question: How many BILLION Valentine’s Day candy hearts are produced each year - ya know the ones with the wee messages on them that taste like chalk?

Answer: 8 billion

Class: Willbanks

Note: According to the Smithsonian, that’s enough for every person on the planet to have one!!!

Have a marvelous Monday everybody!

A wee bit of a kick in the pants this morning to get us all moving from Mel Robbins, “Motivation is garbage. Stop waiting to feel like it. Whatever it is that you want - wake up and go get it. With hard work, patience and optimism - you can make absolutely anything happen.”

Have a terrific Tuesday everybody!
