This past Saturday, our middle school Science Olympiad team competed in our regional competition at Haslett HS. The team did a great job and learned a lot along the way! Thanks to our team members for their hard work and commitment while preparing for their events. The team members include:
· Mitchell G
· Reagan G
· John K
· Jacob M
· Layne M
· Jeremiah S
Individual medal winners in their events were:
· John K and Mitchell G – 3rd place in Bridges
· Jeremiah S and Layne M– 4th place in Electric Wright Stuff
· Reagan G and Jeremiah S – 6th place in Crime Busters
· Jacob M and Layne M – 6th place in Solar System
And now it’s time for Manic Mystery Monday so pop your thinking caps on and teachers dial 1420 when you have heard the entire question and your class has an answer. BTW this will be an IOU treat as we are all out of the dum-dums:

Answer: UCLA men. UCONN women
Class: Hewitt
Note: With 11 national titles, UCLA has the record for the most NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championships; John Wooden coached UCLA to 10 of its 11 titles. On the women’s side the University of Connecticut, 6 of those 11 titles have ended in undefeated seasons.

The first 7th and 8th grade bowling club match is Saturday 26th at Richfield Lanes in Flint.
7th and 8th grade track sign-ups will be in the office from lunchtime today. Practice will start Monday after spring break.
We’ve got Scottish weather off and on for the rest of the week and our lovely building has leaks a plenty. If you see water please don’t step in it and notify a staff member
It’s Hump Day and we now have the student inspirational quote of the week to get you over the hump. This one was sent to us by Metta N and is from Maya Angelou:

Lockers must be cleaned out before spring break. Please take your clothes, left socks, lunch boxes with moldy sandwiches, 23 water bottles and mountains of screwed up homework balls home or toss them in the rubbish bins.
And now it’s time to get our Science on with the Science Fact of the Week
Fact: Monday was our first day of spring or the Vernal Equinox Spring begins on the Vernal Equinox.
The word Vernal means Spring in Latin while Equinox is the Latin word for equal days. On the first day of Spring the hours of daylight and night are almost equal with daylight being slightly longer.
