Announcements Monday 03/07/2022:

Good morning staff and students!  Welcome to Ovid-Elsie Middle School where we are inspiring life-long learners to achieve their full potential and excel in a changing world.  Today is Monday March 7th,  2021.  Please stand for the pledge…

Our Middle School Band performed at Band Festival and did a fantastic job, earning a 2nd division rating.

And now it’s time for Manic Mystery Monday so pop your thinking caps on and teachers dial 1420 when you have heard the entire question and your class has an answer:

Question: How many noses does a slug have?

Why we should love slugs - Discover Wildlife

Answer: None.  Instead, they have four tentacles that each have different sensory functions.

Notes:  Slugs use the first pair of tentacles to pick up information about their environment. This pair of tentacles have a black spot at the top and can detect darkness and light.

The other pair of tentacles enable the slugs to recognise chemical smells and function as a nose. These tentacles are quite sensitive to touch. Slugs use all four tentacles when searching for food.

Class: Belill

Now don't you feel better now that you know that?!!

Have a marvelous Monday everybody!

Quote: You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.

The author of this quote is Christopher Columbus and if he didn’t know a thing or two about leaving the shore and being successful, well I don’t know who did!
