Announcements 03/22/2021

Good morning staff and students!  Welcome to Ovid-Elsie Middle School where we are inspiring life-long learners to achieve their full potential and excel in a changing world.  Today is Monday March 22nd, 2021.

This week is the state level competition for FFA Leadership Contests.  Good luck to Josh M who is competing in the Jr High Public Speaking Competition.

Happy Birthday today to Hannah K.  Have a fabulous day today!!

This is our last week of March is Reading Month activities. Check your email today for a mystery match-up quiz about reading. Complete it by 3:00 to have a chance to get your name entered in this Friday’s last prize raffle.

Our 7th grade basketball A team finished our season Saturday with two big wins and our best ball movement of the year (53-3 and 60-12) to remain undefeated at 6-0.   Our B team finished the season (playing all A teams) at 3-3 with a couple very close losses.

The 8th grade boys basketball team finished their season also on Saturday at Chesaning.  The A team was once again led by their defense over a tough Chesaning team and came out with a hard earned 37-29 victory.  The B Team then had a great battle with Chesaning.  Their comeback effort came up just a little short, losing 23-28.  And then to finish the season off, both teams played one final game together against New Lothrop and walked off the court with a 41-25 victory.  Great season to both teams and we look forward to watching you all and seeing what you will accomplish over the next 4 years in high school.

Sign-ups for middle school track and field are in the office during lunch for 7th and 8th grade students. You can sign-up any time this week. There will also be a meeting tomorrow, during lunch, to answer any questions. The meeting will be the last 10 minutes of 7th and 8th Grade Lunch in Mr. K’s classroom.

And now prepare to be motivated by author Mark Twain:

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.”

So let’s get started!  Have an amazing Monday everybody!
