Good morning staff and students!  Welcome to Ovid-Elsie Middle School where we are inspiring life-long learners to achieve their full potential and excel in a changing world.  Today is Tuesday February 9th, 2021. Please stand for the pledge...

I hope that you all enjoyed your long weekend.

Today is picture retakes.  Please take your original picture package to the high school auditorium when called.

Tomorrow is COUNT DAY  and that means that it is ESSENTIAL that everybody attend either a Meet or submit an assignment.  Teachers will be providing details today of what you have to complete tomorrow on Virtual Wednesday.

Attention Student Council members, tomorrow is your monthly meeting via Google Meet. Mrs. Willbanks will see you at her meeting room at 2:00 & be ready to share any great ideas you have to make our school or community a better place!

Attention Science Olympiad Team, there will be practice today after school until 4:20 in Mr. Wertz’s room.

If you see Josh (JD) M today, wish him luck.  He competes in District level FFA leadership contests for Jr High Public Speaking delivering a speech he wrote about Vacuum Collection of Sap in Maple Trees.  Good Luck Bud!

Another reminder that cell phones must be turned OFF and placed in lockers upon entering the building.  Keeping a cell phone on your person is a blue slip violation.  IF you are sick please come to the office, do not use your phone to contact home, we will do that for you.

Happy Birthday to Trey M & Evan N tomorrow!

Have a terrific Tuesday everybody!  Let’s make today amazing!

Happy Birthday to Kanyon K today!! 🎈

And now it’s time for our Science Fact of the Week:

The average person walks the equivalent of five times around the world in their lifetime.

The average person takes around 7,500 steps/day.  If you maintain that daily average and live until 80 years of age, you’ll have walked about 216,262,500 (two hundred sixteen million two hundred sixty-two thousand five hundred) steps in your lifetime.   This is a distance of around 110,000 miles — which is the equivalent of walking about 5 times around the Earth, right on the equator.

Have a Tremendous Thursday everybody and think on this: Estee Lauder once said, "I didn't get there by wishing for it or hoping for it, but by working for it.".  Since she died worth $5.1 BILLION; it clearly worked for her!

Question: What time did the guy go to the dentist?

Answer: Tooth-hurty.

And a bonus question from one of my student friends:

If 2 vegans are arguing would you still say that they have beef with one another?
