Remember, while attending Google Meets in the afternoons is very important, doing the independent work in the morning is just as important, IF NOT MORE. Often the afternoon meets are based on the morning work. In order to be able to contribute and fully benefit from the teaching you MUST have done the independent student work in the morning.

Let’s finish out today with a fun Christmas Science Fact:
Question: Why does Rudolph have a red nose?
Answer: Medical researchers in the US and the Netherlands were suspicious about the famous reindeer’s scarlet snout, so they travelled to Norway to investigate. Using video-imaging technology, they took an extremely close look at how blood circulates in reindeers’ hairy snouts and found that they were, on average, 25% more densely packed with tiny blood vessels, or capillaries, than human noses. This would definitely account for reindeers having a redder nose than you or I. There was no finding, however, that reindeer’s noses ever glow. I guess they’ll still have to ask Santa about that one!!

If you do not have the materials that the artist uses feel free to be creative and use whatever you have: crayons, markers, colored pencils, glitter, tissue paper, etc. This would make a really awesome Christmas card or a lovely gift, especially if popped into a photo frame.
