Morning Announcements

Good Morning staff and students!  Welcome to Ovid-Elsie Middle School where we are inspiring life-long learners to achieve their full potential and excel in a changing world.  Today is Thursday November 12th, 2020.  Please stand for the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag …

  • A reminder that our VIRTUAL parent teacher conferences are tonight from 5:00pm - 8:30pm.  Parents still have time to sign up by 5:00pm for a Google Meet with teachers if they have concerns at: https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Ovid_Elsie_Middle_School

  • Happy Birthday to Miss Clarizio!  Have a wonderful day today!

  • Student council members thought that it would be a neat idea to spread thankfulness during this season.   Advisory teachers have paper leaves on which you can write what you are thankful for.  You'll see a thankful tree in the lobby to hang them on. You could write a word, a sentence, or paragraph! Cut them out and put them in the box by the tree if you are interested in expressing your thanks.

  • And now it’s time for our weekly Science Fact and this one is for the 8th grade students who have been studying fossils recently:

    • Chalk is made from trillions of microscopic, plankton fossils which littered the ocean floors just under 100 million years ago, coating the floor in white ooze.  As sediment built up on top of this layer, the pressure compressed these single celled algae into the rock chalk.

Have a terrific Thursday!  Let’s make today ridiculously amazing!
