Coach Elliott would like to congratulate the members of the 2025-2026 middle school chess team who traveled to Oakland University this past Saturday for the Middle School State Team Championships. Coming away with victories were Wade S., Thomas E., Trentin Z., Judah F., Jack F., James K., and Kaylynne C. Winning a silver medal on Board Two for the A team was Thomas E. with a score of 4 victories and 1 loss! Great job to all who participated in State Championship matches!
Congratulations to our Girls' Basketball Team! This past weekend, they finished 3rd in bracket play at the State Tournament with a win over Holt. We are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and the way they represented our school.
Reading is sweet - and rewarding! This month, we're hunting for bookworms. If any teacher catches you diving into a great book without being prompted, you'll score a "caught reading" ticket. Don't let your tickets gather dust - head to the office to trade your ticket in for a prize from our prize cart. This will last the entire month of March. Happy Reading!

The Battle of the Bookmarks is back, and you’re invited to participate! Be creative and design a bookmark worthy of all students at OEMS. Submit your design to your LA teacher by March 13th. The voting will take place on March 20th, with the winner announced on March 23rd. The winner of the battle will have their bookmark printed and distributed to all students at OEMS.
Good Luck to our FFA students attending the State Convention tomorrow!
