Good morning staff and students!  Welcome to Ovid-Elsie Middle School where we are inspiring life-long learners to achieve their full potential and excel in a changing world.  Today is Tuesday January 27th, 2026.  Please stand for the pledge…..

Happy Birthday to Coltyn S and Richie R who celebrated their birthdays over the wekend. Hope that you had a wonderful birthday guys!

We have a Spirit Week this week:

Tomorrow is a PINK OUT!

Thursday is Crazy Sock Day

Friday is Twin Day

Breaking News from your student council: Next Friday, February 6th, we'll be having a black light-neon-glow dance!!! We think you'll really love our version of a valentine's dance. It's from 3-4:30 and the cost is $3. You'll want to wear white or neon to look amazing under those black lights. Student Council will also be selling some glow swag next week for those interested. See you there!

Reading NWEA tomorrow.   Make sure your Chromebooks are charged the night before.  Get to bed early and have a good breakfast in the morning.   Be to school on time, ready to roll for 7:55am.

Please check the lost and found.  We have hoodies and jackets, which given the frosty weather, you just might need if you don’t want to condemn yourself to nasty colds; hoarse, sore throats; feeble voices and snotty noses!

LUNCH:

Cheeseburger, sweet potato, pears and milk.

And now it’s time for Manic Mystery Monday, otherwise known as Trivia Tuesday, so pop your thinking caps on and teachers dial 1420 when you have heard the entire question and your class has an answer:

Question: What shape does a snowflake begin as?

Answer: A hexagon.

Class: Miller

Note: A snowflake starts as a tiny, six-sided (hexagonal) crystal, which forms when water vapor freezes onto a speck of dust or pollen in the atmosphere. Due to the molecular structure of ice, this initial shape is a microscopic hexagonal prism or plate, which later grows branches to form complex, symmetrical structures.

Have a marvelous Tuesday everybody!
