Announcements Monday 1/12/2026:
Good morning staff and students! Welcome to Ovid-Elsie Middle School where we are inspiring life-long learners to achieve their full potential and excel in a changing world. Today is Monday January 12th, 2026. Please stand for the pledge…..
We have a new cafeteria monitor starting today, Mrs Barnum. Please help us to welcome her to the MS family. Show her the Marauder Way - Be Respectful, Be Responsible & Be Your Best! Your 1st hr teachers will spend 5 mins reviewing Cafeteria Expectations so that they are fresh in your minds.
LUNCH:
Chicken tenders, dinner roll, sweet potato fries, pears and milk.
And now it’s time for Manic Mystery Monday so pop your thinking caps on and teachers dial 1420 when you have heard the entire question and your class has an answer:
Question: What is the name for a group of butterflies?
Answer: A ‘flutter’ or a ‘kaleidoscope’ (swarm or rabble also accepted).
Note: A group of butterflies is most famously called a kaleidoscope, due to their beautiful, colorful, swirling patterns when they fly together, but they can also be called a swarm, a flutter, or a rabble, especially during migration or when puddling for minerals.
Class: Miller.
Have a marvelous Monday everybody!

Our MS Cheer team did an amazing job last night and took 1st place at the Birch Run MMAC competition. Fabulous job guys!
We have some PBIS news:
The last day of the month is a half day for students. It is also an attendance reward competition so plan on being here to give your class a chance to win.
Our big ticket Blue Marauder ticket prize draw prize at the end of the month is a free Zap Zone Pass so make sure that you are Being Respectful, Being Responsible and Being your Best!
An example of being our best means choosing our words carefully. When we hear unkind rumors, we should condemn that behavior and choose to lift each other up instead. In fact, let’s all join a boycott of negativity! By refusing to participate in gossip, we make sure our school spirit doesn't deteriorate.
A reminder that tomorrow is the end of the 2nd marking period. We do not have school on Monday, in order to honor Martin Luther King Jr. and Tuesday we begin the 3rd MP.
LUNCH:
Pizza, green beans, pineapple and milk.
We will have concessions tomorrow at the end of the day so bring your monies for the sugar sling!
Have a tremendous Thursday everybody! Let’s make today RIDICULOUSLY amazing!
