Elves on the Loose

Attention all students: We have an important holiday situation to report. Santa’s elves have escaped and are hiding throughout the school once again! They are small, sneaky, and clearly avoiding responsibility.

If you spot one of Santa’s runaway elves, here’s what to do:

  • Carefully capture the elf

  • Write your name on the back of the elf

  • Bring it straight to the office

  • PLEASE ONLY BRING 1 ELF and give others an opportunity to find the rest.

Each day, one lucky elf-catcher will be drawn as a daily winner. Then on Friday, we’ll announce the student who captured the most elves and crown them our Master Elf Wrangler for the week.

Keep your eyes open, your holiday spirit high, and remember… elves are crafty.

Good luck, and happy hunting!

Congratulations to the Lady Maruaders for winning the Red Cedar Gold Division Tournament this weekend. The girls had wins over St. Gerard 52-19, Holt 47-41, Olivet 44-28, and Olivet again in the Championship game 54-49.  Their commitment, hard work, toughness, and team-first mentality were evident throughout the weekend, and they represented our school community exceptionally well. Way to go, ladies, we are all very proud of you!!!

Friday night the Middle School team wrestled at Lakeville High School in the MMAC post season tournament. There were lots of exciting close matches. We are proud of our team!

Lucas Baese, Zeke W, Grant M all got a 1st

Bentlee R, Lilly S, Marcus P, Brantley N and Logan S all got a 2nd

Channing C, Logann Wand Jhamal H all got a 3rd

And now it’s time for Manic Mystery Monday so pop your thinking caps on and teachers dial 1420 when you have heard the entire question and your class has an answer:

Question:  In the movie Home Alone, what is the full name of the young boy left behind by his family during Christmas vacation?

Answer: Kevin McCallister

Class: Mrs. Willbanks

Note: "You can mess with a lot of things, but you can't mess with kids on Christmas."[src]

Kevin McCallister was mistakenly separated from his family during Christmastime twice as a child and forced to defend himself against bumbling burglars Harry Lyme and Marv Murchins.

In Home Alone 2 Kevin states,  "You can mess with a lot of things, but you can't mess with kids on Christmas."[s

Have a marvelous Monday everybody!

As a heads up to all elf hunters: each day may get a little trickier. The elves are learning quickly and have promised not to hide in the same spots twice. They’re stealthy, sneakier, smarter, and are possibly hatching a plot to evade us.  We must persevere!

Remember, if you find an elf, make haste:

  • Write your first and last name legibly on the back of the elf

  • Bring it to the office between passing time
