And now it’s time for Manic Mystery Monday so pop your thinking caps on and teachers dial 1420 when you have heard the entire question and your class has an answer:

Question: What U.S. city is known as the “Witchcraft Capital?”

Answer: Salem, Massachusetts

Class:

Note: Salem, Massachusetts is famous for the 1692-1693 Salem witch trials, a series of hearings and prosecutions where over 200 people were accused of witchcraft, resulting in 19 executions by hanging, one man pressed to death, and others dying in prison. The trials were rooted in religious extremism, social tensions, and mass paranoia in colonial Massachusetts.

Have a marvelous Monday everybody!
