  • This week’s Kindness Challenge is to ask a friend about their life.  You might only get to hear a cute story about their pet, or maybe you might give them the chance to talk about something that’s really bothering them.

  • Red Cedar Volleyball forms are available in the MS office for 6-8th Graders.  Forms need to be returned to the office by this Friday. 

  • Attention 8th grade student council members: if you signed up, tomorrow is the conference in Mount Pleasant with the high school. Please meet no later than 7:30 am in the middle school lobby in front of the concession stand to board the bus.

  • Happy Birthday to Logan D yesterday and to Alexis L today!  Have a fantastic birthday friends!

  • And now it’s time for Terrific Trivia Tuesday, Teachers please call Extension 1420 when you have heard the entire question

  • Question: What was the name of the ship that sank in Lake Superior on Nov. 10, 1975.  (CLUE: There is a song written about it!)

  • Answer: The Edmund Fitzgerald.

  • Fun Facts:  SS Edmund Fitzgerald was an American Great Lakes freighter that sank in a Lake Superior storm with the loss of the entire crew of 29.

 Today is Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020

  • This week’s Kindness Challenge is to ask a friend about their life.  Try this with your teachers.  Building relationships begins with learning about each other.

  • A reminder that next Tuesday will be our last Show Your Pride Tuesday for January so wear your class colors.  These are:

6th - blue (any shade), 7th - orange, 8th - black

  • Yearbooks will only be on sale @ Jostens.com through January 30th.  They CANNOT be ordered after that time!  

  • This Friday popcorn will be sold during each lunch hour for $1.  

  • And now it’s time for the silliest time of the year, Mrs Holley’s Chuckle Time:

Answer:  A bulldozer.

  • This week’s Kindness Challenge is to ask a friend about their life.  Try asking your family about their lives.  Check-in with your brothers and sisters, your parents and grandparents.  Showing interest shows love.

  • A reminder that next Tuesday will be our last Show Your Pride Tuesday for January so wear your class colours.  These are:

6th - blue (any shade), 7th - orange, 8th - black

  • The finals of the National Geo Bee will be held today at 2 pm in the HS Auditorium. Your 6th hour teacher will take you there to watch. Please remember to be respectful to all of the contestants on stage. 

  • This Friday popcorn will be sold during each lunch hour for $1.  

  • The 7th grade B Team played Montrose last night and earned a hard fought 36-32 victory.  The boys played hard all game and came up with some key defensive stops to earn the victory and move their record to 2-0.

  • We have one student birthday today: Happy Birthday to Leticia R!  Have a great day Leticia!

  • This week’s Kindness Challenge is about building connections by encouraging people to share about their lives.  If you are privileged enough to be told something in confidence remember to treasure that information and keep it private.

  • A reminder that next Tuesday will be our last Show Your Pride Tuesday for January so wear your class colours.  These are:

6th - blue (any shade), 7th - orange, 8th - black

  • We will be selling popcorn today during each lunch hour for $1 and concessions at the end of school.

  • Congrats to Hunter Arbogast our winner of the Geo B yesterday!!

  • Please double check the lost and found today. It will all be donated at the end of the day. Quick reminder that the lost and found is not to be used in place of your locker!!!!

  • We have some student birthdays happening over the weekend:  Happy birthday to Hayden Toribio, Corbyn Janes and Aaron Johnson.  Have a great weekend guys!

  • Finally let’s end our week by celebrating some Positive Peers who have made good choices to help out another student or take care of our school.  Congratulations to : Mackensey Gilbert, Kloie Carpenter, Michael Rhinehart, Logan Workman, River Gilbert and Jordan Milledge.  Please come down to the office at this time and we’ll be glad to give you a treat to show our support of your good choices!
