LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED FOR THE CLASS OF 2023.

2024 APPLICATIONS WILL BE POSTED IN FEBRUARY 2024!

IT'S SENIOR YEAR...WHAT NOW?

Senior year is here and you are wondering what you need to do to prepare to leave our hallowed halls - dont' worry - got you covered! Below are steps and resources to help you navigate this final year of high school:

STEP #1:

Go through the following checklist to ensure you meet all requirements for graduation - schedule changes for semester 1 are due the first week of school, so you have to do this ASAP!

  • Graduation Audit

    • This was shared with you on Google Drive and lets you know how many credits you still need and in what areas to meet all graduation requirements. Make sure these classes are in your schedule on PowerSchool and then turn in a schedule change request if necessary.

  • Xello Completion

    • Your Xello profile should be completely filled out with interests, work experience, and skills.

    • Your "About Me" section with all of the quizzes should be done and updated so they are current.

    • You should have some saved colleges or careers to show what your future goals/plans are.

    • All lessons for grades 9-12 should be completed.

STEP #2:

September 27th will be the required senior meeting for all 12th grade students so they can get a copy of their senior information packet and review all of the important information for senior year. This meeting is incredibly important and should be attended - RESA students are excused from their CTE course that morning so they can be in attendance.

STEP #3:

Individual Senior Meetings will be scheduled by students for the month of October using this LINK - each student will get to meet with the counselor and get assistance on college planning, completion of applications, FAFSA, or to clarify classes, early graduation, dual enrollment, or other future planning items. Scheduling a senior meeting is highly recommended as there are days set aside with the counselor specifically for seniors to get assistance at this time.

STEP #4:

Senior Interviews will take place on April 11th. This event is required for all seniors (except RESA students). You will get an email with a link to sign up for an interview time with one of local professionals ranging from politicians, CEOs, police officers, teachers, and engineers. Choose someone that is in a career similar to one of your interests or goals and you will complete a 30 minute interview with that individual.

  • What to bring:

    • Come prepared with a professional resume that outlines your work experience, leadership experience, and education, along with future goals. Need help on making one? See us in the counseling office!

  • Dress Professionally

    • Treat this like a real job interview and dress appropriately!

    • Dress Pants, Suits, Jackets, Dresses/Skirts (knee length), Dress Shirts, or Sweaters.

    • Need something to wear? We got you! Come see us in the counseling office to check out our professional clothing closet!
