Just in case you missed it: Antigen testing for athletes began today BEFORE school at 7:30 A.M, in the High School Gymnasium.   Bus riders get off the bus and go inside to test as soon as they arrive at the school.  Students who are driven to school can be dropped off at the High School.

The Middle School track meet tomorrow afternoon is now starting at 5:00 pm.

And now it’s time for Motivational Monday and today we’re focusing on KINDNESS:

Announcements 04/22/2021

Good morning staff and students!  Welcome to Ovid-Elsie Middle School where we are inspiring life-long learners to achieve their full potential and excel in a changing world.  Today is Thursday April 22nd, 2021.

A reminder that as the weather changes our dress code will be enforced:

Shorts must be worn as long as your longest finger with your arms straight down by your side.

Holes in jeans must either be below the fingertip level mentioned above OR have non-see through clothing below.

No tank tops or spaghetti strap tops.  Tops must have a sleeve covering the shoulder.

Happy Earth Day everyone!  Please try to reflect on the importance of taking care of our planet for ourselves and future generations.

Happy Birthday today to Jamie H.  Have a fantastic day Jamie.

And now it’s time for the Science Fact of the Week and it’s all about arachnids:

There is an average of 50,000 spiders per acre in green areas.

But don’t despair!  Spiders are good for us:

They eat bugs that feast on our crops and without them it’s possible that there would be worldwide famine.

And get this, studies into the design and strength of spiders’ webs have led to producing super-strong artificial silk that scientists believe can be used in parachutes and bullet proof vests.

Have a terrific Thursday!  Let’s make today ridiculously amazing!
