Good morning staff and students! Welcome to Ovid-Elsie Middle School where we are inspiring life-long learners to achieve their full potential and excel in a changing world. Today is Monday January 25th, 2021.
A reminder to check your email or the Schoology announcements for a sign up link to join in the student council APPRECIATING LOCAL HEROES project and write a 4-8 sentence letter to express your thanks. There are still many spots left to fill!!! Letters must be done by Friday & can be hand written or typed and printed out. Letters should be turned in to the office or to Mrs. Willbanks! If you need an envelope, let us know! If you give it to the office or Mrs. Willbanks, we'll buy the stamp and mail it for you!! We'd like you to address the envelope though, as that is a great life skill. The addresses are on the sign up link.
Mrs. Spicer and Ms. Winsor are starting some virtual peer counseling groups on Wednesdays. Look for the link to sign up in Schoology Announcements, MS Counseling Google Classroom, or come to the office and fill out the good old-fashioned paper slip and drop it in the BRIGHT PINK box :)
If you signed up for the MS Science Olympiad, team practices begin this Thursday after school from 3:00 - 4:30 in Mr. Wertz’s room.

We have all made it to the first day of the 2nd semester by showing patience, tolerance, creativity and flexibility. Great work everybody! Now go forth and start 2nd semester with the same positive attitude.

A final reminder that your letters of appreciation for local heroes need to be turned in online or handed in by tomorrow. Check your email or the Schoology announcements for the sign up link.
If you signed up for the MS Science Olympiad, team practices begin this afternoon after school from 3:00 - 4:30 in Mr. Wertz’s room.
Corbyn Janes had a birthday yesterday. Hope that you had a great Birthday Buddy!
Here’s a fun snow fact for your Thursday fun facts:
Question: How big was the world’s largest snowman?
Answer: The world’s largest snowman was built in a village in Maine in 2008. It was 122 ft tall, which is roughly equivalent to 3 1/2 school buses standing end to end and was made from 13 million pounds of snow. Its eyes were made from 5ft wreaths with eyelashes made from 8 pairs of skis!
