Science Fact:  Have you ever asked yourself how heavy Santa’s sleigh must be to carry a present for every good little boy and girl on Christmas Eve?

Answer: Throughout this incredible journey, Santa needs to transport enough gifts for between 500 and 600 million children. If each present weighs about 1kg, that’s a cargo weight approaching 600,000 tons and that is the equivalent of about 82 Eiffel Towers!!!  Those poor reindeer!

Finally I have an beautiful painting tutorial of a Christmas wreath for you to watch and try:

Remember that you don’t HAVE to use the same materials, or even paint the same picture as the artist, use the video as inspiration for your own artwork!

And speaking of inspiration, here are some words from John F. Kennedy for you to think about, “When written in Chinese the word ‘crisis’ is composed of two characters – one represents danger and the other represents opportunity.”.  In this period of ‘crisis’ can you find a way to make positive, healthy, and happy opportunities for yourself and others?

(This project would look awesome using crayons, markers, oil pastels, or the paint that the artist uses.)

And finally let’s have a Winter Wednesday Mrs Holley’s Chuckle Time:

Q: Why did Santa get a parking ticket on Christmas Eve?

A: Because he left the sleigh in a snow parking zone!

Have a wonderful Wednesday everybody!  I’ll leave you with a little something to think about from the creator of Charlie Brown and Snoopy, Charles Schulz, who said, "Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.”.

Tuesday 15th: Ugly Christmas Sweater/Shirt

Wednesday 16th: Green/Red day

Thursday 17th: Christmas Hat 🎅& Socks Day

Friday 18th: Formal Friday (dress your best)👔👗🎩

We have another fun Christmas craft video for you to do today.  You can make really cool paper Christmas trees to use as table decorations or hang using thread from your ceiling.  Make a variety of sizes and colors to make your own Christmas tree forest!  Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZAsOQiZMEs and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYXg0xq9A5M to find two different Christmas tree options.  You can simply using either colored paper or a piece of paper that you have decorated yourself with markers, colored pencils, crayons or paint.

Here’s a fun Christmas Science Fact for your Thursday:

Question:  How far does Santa travel on Christmas Eve?

Answer:  Santa has a long journey of about 75 million miles ahead of him on Christmas Eve. Thankfully, he has 32 hours to do it because of the changing time zones around the world – though he will need to travel at an average speed of 620 miles per second.

A conventional reindeer runs at a speed of about 15 miles per hour, so Santa’s squad are performing way above average, to say the least.  Let’s hope that Santa’s put something extra nice in their stockings!!

Let’s finish out the week with a couple of Christmas tree jokes in Mrs Holley’s Chuckle Time:

Question:  Why was the Christmas tree in the hospital?

Answer:  Because it had tinselitis!

Question:  Why couldn’t the Christmas tree knit a scarf?

Answer:  Because it kept dropping its needles!

And finally your feel good Christmas quote is from Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge in Dicken’s novel, ‘A Christmas Carol’, “I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year.”.  Not bad advice really!
