This week’s Kindness Challenge is reminding us that:

  • Unexpected kindness is one of the most powerful, least costly and most underrated agents of human change.  Be kind, when it is not expected but just because it's the right thing to do.

  • All new PE students will meet in the IC classroom today and tomorrow.  You will need headphones and a book.  Do NOT go to the gym.

  • There is a student council meeting tomorrow morning at 7:30.  Please meet in the student workroom.

  • National Geography Bee: Any 6th, 7th or 8th grade interested in competing in the National Geography Bee, please sign up in the office. The preliminary round will be held next Wednesday, January 15th at 1:30 in Mr. Latz’s room.

  • Red Cedar Volleyball forms are available in the MS office for 6-8th Graders.  Forms need to be returned to the office by January 24. 

  • Yearbooks will only be on sale @ Jostens.com through January 30th.  They CANNOT be ordered after that time!  

  • We have one student birthday from yesterday.  Happy Birthday to Hunter H!  Hope that you enjoyed the snow day that we arranged for you Hunter!

  • And now it’s time for Terrific Trivia Tuesday, Teachers please call Extension 1420 when you have heard the entire question

This week’s Kindness Challenge is reminding us that:

  • No act of kindness, no matter how small is ever wasted.  You don’t have to make a grand act of kindness to change somebody’s day, sometimes the little things make all the difference.

  • All new PE students meet in the IC classroom today and  You will need headphones and a book.  Do NOT go to the gym.

  • Reminder there is an FFA Meeting tonight at 6:00 pm

  • If any 7th or 8th grade student is interested in being a part of this year’s science olympiad team, there will be a brief sign-up meeting before school tomorrow at 7:40 a.m. in Mr. Wertz’s room.  

  • Last chance to sign up for National Geography Bee, please sign up in the office. The preliminary round will be held TOMORROW, Thursday-- at 1:30 in Mr. Latz’s room. 

  • We have two student birthdays today.  Happy Birthday to Byron O and Natalie S!  Have an amazing day guys!!

  • And now it’s time for the silliest time of the year, Mrs Holley’s Chuckle Time:

This week’s Kindness Challenge is reminding us that:

  • Sometimes kindness isn’t in what you do, it’s in what you don’t.  Think twice before you act today. If it’s not kind, don’t do it!

  • The preliminary round of the Geo Bee is at 1:30 today in Mr. Latz’s room. 

  • The 8th-grade boys’ basketball team traveled to Mount Morris and came away with decisive wins for both the A and B team!  

  • The 7th-grade boys’ basketball team had a nice start to their season last night vs. Mt. Morris.  The B team came alive in the fourth quarter and pulled away to get a great team win by the score of 35-26.

The A team was down 18 points in the fourth quarter in their game against Mt. Morris.  But the boys never gave up and clawed all the way back and their game ended in a tie by the score of 63-63.  

Well done to all of the teams!

  • Don’t forget to bring your pennies for snacks at concessions tomorrow afternoon.

This week’s Kindness Challenge is reminding us that:

  • Kindness doesn’t cost but it does reward so sprinkle that stuff everywhere!

  • Congratulations to the following 10 students that qualified for the school finals in the National Geography Bee: Mercades G, Joey Z, Jayden E, Anthony Z, Hunter A, Tucker L, Braxton O, Joel G, Ian T, and Trey M. The school finals will be held next Thursday, January 23rd at 2:00. Great job to all that participated in the preliminary round.   

  • Happy Birthday to Kam M and Erika S today and Katie T over the weekend.  Have an amazing birthday guys!!

  • Don’t forget to bring your pennies for snacks at concessions this afternoon.

  • A reminder that our Show your Pride Tuesday is ‘Make Your Own Trend Day’.  Be thinking over the weekend about what trend you want to start! Maybe you want to bring back a blast from the past or create your own style. Thanks to Student Council members for these great “dress up” Tuesday ideas. 

  • Tonight at the HS basketball games, the school is having a Coaches vs. Cancer event to help support the cause of defeating cancer. If you aren’t busy, come on out WEARING ORANGE to support those that have defeated cancer, or are battling cancer, including our own Justin C. We hope to see you there tonight at 5:30 for the first game!
