  • This week’s Kindness Challenge is taking its inspiration from Christmas movies.  Let’s start with the Code of the Elves from ‘Elf’ and treat every day like it’s Christmas.  Try to be a little kinder, a little more compassionate and a little more sparkly and joyful!

  • Middle School Campus life is meeting this afternoon at 3:15 in the High School Student Lounge. Please be picked up by 4:45PM.  If you have any questions please contact Mr. Hazle or Mrs. Willbanks.  

  • The Middle School/High School band & choir concert and Fazoli dinner is Wednesday. Tickets for dinner are $10 and you can buy them from a band member or Mrs Holley.  Dinner starts at 4:30 pm and the concert begins at 6:30 pm. The concert is free to all.

  • Our JC Strongbots robotics team had an amazing day at the Kettering qualifier tournament.  After going 4-1 in regular matches, they were selected by the #2 alliance team and ended up as the tournament champions!  In addition, they were selected to compete in this weekend’s state tournament in Battle Creek.

  • For anybody interested in the chess club, it is held with Mr Brian Gavenda and Mr Sutliff in Room E3 in the highschool every Wednesday from 3:00 - 4:30.  Anyone is welcome!

  • Mr Sutliff’s 6th grade LA class have reached their goal of 32 chapsticks.  Well done guys!

  • A reminder that tomorrow’s Dress Up Tuesday theme is: Wear your Support Your Cause shirt!

  • We have 1 student birthday today:  Happy Birthday Jayden S!  Have a fabulous day!!

  • This week’s Kindness Challenge is taking its inspiration from Christmas movies.  In the 1947 movie ‘Miracle on 34th Street’, Kris Kringle says, “Oh, Christmas isn’t just a day, it’s a frame of mind.” So let’s take Santy’s advice and try and keep a Christmas frame of mind all week this week.

  • Come out for the MS/HS Christmas concert tomorrow @ 6:30pm or join us at 4:30pm for the Fazoli’s Fundraiser Pasta Dinner.

  • The robotics team will practice tonight after school until 5:00.  Only the following teams should report to practice: programmers, gold builders, and scouts.

  • There’s a student council meeting tomorrow morning at 7:30 in the student workroom. 

  • We are excited to announce that Mr Sutliff, Mr. Wooley and Mr. Latz’s rooms have all met their item goals for the Elsie Christmas Project and Kingsbury’s class has 47 items for their room! These classes can continue bringing more of their item in or help out another room that needs a boost. Last day to bring items in is this Friday.

  • The chess club is meeting in the highschool in Room E3 every Wednesday from 3:00 - 4:30.  Anyone is welcome!

  • We have 1 student birthday today:  Happy Birthday to Isabel R!  Have a fabulous day Isabel!!

  • In the 1998 movie ‘Scrooged’, Mr Scrooge says, “It’s Christmas Eve. It’s the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer, we smile a little easier, we cheer a little more. For a couple of hours out of the whole year, we are the people that we always hoped we would be.” — Scrooged (1998).  Let’s be those people all week!

  • Congrats to Mr. Kingsbury's room for reaching their goal with deodorant. We are proud of you!

  • Middle and High School Students Challenge will be this Thursday at 7:15AM in the High School Wood Shop!  Come one, come all!

  • We have one staff birthday today.  Happy Birthday to our very own Mrs Kirby who fought a hard fight last year and came through it a WARRIOR!!  Have the happiest of Birthdays today Mrs Kirby!

  • And now it’s time for the most joyful time of the week.  It’s Mrs Holley’s Christmas Themed Chuckle Time:

  • In 1966 Dr Seuss published How the Grinch Stole Christmas and we all were reminded that “Maybe Christmas, doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas…perhaps means a little bit more!” 

  • 8th Grade boys interested in playing basketball, please sign up in the office before Wednesday, December  18.

  • 7th grade boys interested in playing basketball, there will be a meeting in Mr. Belill’s room next Wednesday, Dec. 18th at 7:30.

  • 7th Graders will be selling candy grams for $1 in the lobby before school next week, Monday through Wednesday.  Your friends are a sugary treat before the holiday break! 

  • Also, you can buy your tickets to the Christmas Bash starting tomorrow in the lobby from student council members. So bring your $3 and come next Thursday for a good time with friends. 

  • Good luck to our middle school JC Strongbots team who will be competing at the state robotics finals Friday and Saturday at Battle Creek! 

  • Mr. K wants to remind you to buy a yearbook soon.  Yearbooks will only be on sale through January 30th and you cannot get one after that.  Yearbooks are only $35. If you don’t know how to order one, see Mr. K.

  • We have a lot of classrooms who have met their item goal for the Elsie Community Christmas.  Fluharty, Vedder, Hufnagel and Willbank’s 1st hour all reached their goal. Good job guys!

  • We have one student's birthday today.  Happy Birthday to Alex W. Have a great day Alex!

  • You can buy your tickets to the Christmas Bash next week in the lobby from student council members. The bash is after school next Thursday and is $3 for a ticket. You will not be able to buy the day of the event, so plan ahead!

  • MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMPUS LIFE is this coming Monday at 3:15 in the High School Students Lounge.  You can meet Mr. Hazle near the IC after school for directions. Please have your rides ready by 4:30PM.

  • Happy Birthday to Rowan M today!  We also have Stacy H, Genna H, Jayelynn D and Kaitlyn F celebrating their birthdays over the weekend.  Hope that you all have a great day!

  • We will have the concession stand open for snacks in the afternoon.

  • We have some more names to add to our Positive Peers window of fame.  Thanks to Olyvia C, Kyra P, Abigail T, Tucker L, Ben W, Aric F and Haylee P for going above and beyond for their classmates.
