Announcements 09/30/2019

Good Morning staff and students  Welcome to Ovid-Elsie Middle School where we are inspiring life-long learners to achieve their full potential and excel in a changing world. Today is Monday, September 30th, 2019.  Please stand for the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag …

  • For this week’s Kindness Challenge: Let’s think about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.  Be accountable for your own choices. In other words, if you choose to do it, be sure that you would be willing to admit it!

  • Robotics practice is today after school until 4:30.

  • And now it’s time for Manic Mystery Monday, Teachers please call Extension 1420 when you have heard the entire question and remember, NO HELPING:

    • Question: What is the only metal that's not solid at room temperature?

    • Answer: Mercury.

    • Fun Facts: Mercury has a very high surface tension, so it forms rounded beads of liquid.  It is now known to be highly toxic but was used in makeup for much of history.

Have a marvelous Monday!  And remember, it’s always a great day to have a great day!

  • For this week’s Kindness Challenge: Let’s think about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.   Improving our character is a matter of choosing to change and making the effort. We don't change and become wiser, kinder, more patient or more self-disciplined automatically. We do so by deliberately working at being that kind of person.

  • A reminder that gym clothes must be school appropriate.

  • Student Challenge will be meeting in the 8th grade students work room this THURSDAY from 7:15AM to 7:50AM.  Refreshments are provided and all students and staff are welcome to attend.

  • JC Strongbots practice for Builders and Programmers after school today 3:10-4:30pm

  • For this week’s Kindness Challenge:  we are still thinking about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.  Remember that you are free to choose how you act but you are NOT free from the consequences of your actions.

  • You may not be in the cafeteria in the morning UNLESS you are eating your own school breakfast.  We’re seeing a lot of 8th grade boys who seem to need this reminder.

  • A reminder that next week is Homecoming Week and our first fun day is PJ day on Monday.  We also have picture retakes on this day so you may want to bring a change of clothes if you are getting your picture taken.

  • A friendly reminder that we need to have good behavior in the hallway. This your warning. If you are not keeping your hands to yourself, yelling, messing with other students, stepping on people’s shoes, etc… You will get a blue slip on the first offense.
