Announcements Week of 05/06/2019

Monday 05/06/2019

Good Morning staff and students welcome back to Ovid-Elsie Middle School where we are inspiring life-long learners to achieve their full potential and excel in a changing world. Today is Monday May 6th, 2019.  Please stand for the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag …

  • This week’s Kindness Challenge is: before you react stop!!  Take a breath. Ask yourself, is my gut reaction going to solve this problem.

  • We have an early release at 2:15pm for the track team today.

  • Happy Birthday to Madison T, Katelyn H and Damion M over the weekend!

  • Get your thinking caps on guys because it’s MANIC MYSTERY MONDAY!  Teachers please call Extension 1420 when you have heard the entire question:

QUESTION:  What was the most streamed song of 2018 according to Billboard top 100 most-streamed radio songs?

ANSWER:  Perfect by Ed Sheeran

NOTES:  British rock star Ed Sheeran wrote the song for his then girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, who he married in secret December 2018.  It was re-released at that time with Beyonce sending it straight to #1 in the UK and US.

Have a great Monday!

  • This week’s Kindness Challenge is: when somebody is unkind emotions are triggered.  Emotions have energy, so we have an urge to react immediately. Maybe we react by speaking in anger this is usually NOT in our long-term best interest.  Stop! Breathe.

  • Middle School Student Challenge will be on THURSDAY in the high school woodshop.  Doors are open at 7AM, refreshments will be provided and all students and staff are welcome.  This week we will have special guests from Campus Life to share about awesome new changes coming to Student Challenge.

  • Our student council will be having a bake sale everyday this week at lunchtime There will also be Relay for Life feet and ribbons sold for $1. Doughnuts will be sold on Friday for $2 before school!  All donations will be going to Mrs. Kirby!

  • Also to support Mrs. Kirby this week, all students can wear hats on Friday for $1.00, which you will give to your first hour teacher Friday morning.

  • Football meeting in Mr. Hufnagel’s Room This Thursday at 7:45. Bring your contact information (address/cell phone #) as well as your parents phone number.

  • Happy Birthday to Katelyn S today!

Have a terrific Tuesday!
