  • FFA are having a kick-off meeting in the high school auditorium on Wednesday October 21st at 6:30pm for new members and 7:30 for returning members.

  • Settle in because we have another wonderfully descriptive account of last night’s basketball game from Mr Belill in the HS:

    • The Montrose Rams came trampling into town last night to take on the 7th and 8th grade Lady Marauders.

    • The 7th grade corralled the rams early and never allowed them to get out of the gate in route to a very lopsided victory that saw the opponent score in the single digits. 7th grade now stands at 7-0 on the season.

    • In the night cap, the 8th grade battled from start to finish, but came out on the short end of a 32-40 game. The ladies never backed down, and fought back from a couple of deficits where they could have just caved. Great effort all night was hurt, though, with a couple of untimely mental errors late in the game. The loss leaves 8th grade at 4-3 on the season.

    • Both teams are back in action Wednesday for the season finale at New Lothrop - with the 8th grade looking to exact some revenge for some late game theatrics in their first meeting.

Have a terrific Tuesday and remember it’s always a great day to have a great day!

Announcements 10/22/2020

  • Sign up online for the Pumpkin Painting Event being held tomorrow from 3:15-4:15, behind the middle school cafeteria.  Tickets are $3 at the door and a snack is included.  Parent pick up includes taking the wet pumpkin home.

  • The Lady Marauders traveled to New Lothrop last night for the season finale.

  • The 7th grade grade came out strong in a tight contest that saw the lead multiple times. Although the hornets made some runs, the 7th grade broke free and opened up a lead at the end to pull away and finish out the season 7-0.

  • The 8th grade Lady Marauders battled hard in a low scoring affair that saw both teams in the single digits at half. Mental errors would be their downfall, as they couldn't muster a comeback, as the hornets struck for the second time this season. 8th grade finished the season 4-4.

  • Congrats to all the Lady Marauders on awesome seasons!!

  • And finally your science fact of the week: a TEASPOON of a neutron star would weight 6 BILLION tons - these dying stars explode in a supernova while its core collapses in on itself due to gravity making some of the densest matter in the known universe.

Have a tremendous Thursday and remember optimism is a positivity magnet, so try a positive attitude and see what you attract.
